The Solid Ground Process

Our Concrete Project Process

No mystery, no disappearing acts. Four steps from first call to final walkthrough — with communication and timelines you can count on.

1

Walk & Assess

Free on-site estimate. We read your soil, drainage, and grade — then give you an honest number.

We walk your property, look at how water moves across it, check the soil, and talk through what you want. No pressure, no vague guesses — you get a clear written quote based on what we actually see.

2

Match the Pour

We spec the mix, thickness, reinforcement, and grade to your specific lot.

North Texas clay soil moves. We design the pour for your soil type — sub-base prep, thickness, joint placement, and drainage slope — so the concrete has a fighting chance of lasting decades instead of seasons.

3

Pour & Protect

We build it right and protect your landscaping while we do it.

Clean forms, straight lines, proper finishing, and careful curing. We contain the mess — your lawn, beds, and neighbor's curb stay clean. You see the work happening, not just hear about it.

4

Inspect & Stand Behind

Final walkthrough together, then complimentary annual inspections.

Before we pack up, we walk the job with you. Then we come back — once a year for three years — to check for settling, cracking, or drainage changes and catch small issues before they become big ones.

Common Pitfalls We Avoid

Drainage Disasters

Water pooling toward the house or under the slab undermines everything. We design drainage into every pour — slope, runoff management, and water direction away from foundations.

Curing Too Fast

Concrete poured in hot, dry, windy North Texas conditions can cure too fast and develop surface cracks. We manage curing conditions — keeping the surface moist during initial set — to prevent this.

Landscaping Damage

The #1 homeowner fear. We protect lawns and beds throughout the project. Zero landscaping damage guaranteed — or we pay up to $1,000 for restoration.

Missing Sub-Base

The most common corner cut. A slab without proper sub-base on North Texas clay will fail. We never skip it — it's the foundation under the foundation.
